With primary season heating up in the US and turning the internet from "insufferable" to "burn it with fire", I am left wondering.. why do none of the candidates talk about the issues?

You know

Things like "Is the new version of DBA better?"

"True 25 vs heroic 28mm"

"Is FOW better in 6mm?"

and those old, bad lids on the GW paints they used to have.

"People must be protected from 'Big Business' charging whatever the market will bear for a single miniature!"
"Subsidies for Sable ranchers"

Waco Joe01 Mar 2016 11:29 a.m. PST

I think one of them wants to make wargaming great again. Another has promised a free DBA army in every house, but unfortunately it is Neolithic Libyans.

coopman01 Mar 2016 11:33 a.m. PST

What is the "One True Scale" as opposed to those other scales used by the outcasts?
Free college education and gov't. subsidies for all wargamers using the "One True Scale".

Inkpaduta01 Mar 2016 11:33 a.m. PST

And one wants to know why there are so few women that wargame! While one has stated that he believes metal figures are superior to plastic figures and has never changed his position on this unlike other candidates.

ironicon01 Mar 2016 11:39 a.m. PST

Are there any Politicians that wargame?

Who asked this joker01 Mar 2016 11:40 a.m. PST

I'm not going to debate this but I will give you the correct answers.

1) 3.0 is the best version of the game evah!

2) True 25 which equates to 1/72 scale

3) FoW is definitly better in 6mm. The only way to have a tank parking lot is to have about 6X as many tanks on the field as you do in a 15mm game!

4) The new lids are garbage. You can't hang them open. The preivious generation lids were OK but would break after a while. The generation before that, the paints would dry out. The ones that worked great were the ones in the "Armory Bottles." I still have some from the early 90s and they have not dried out yet!

And THAT is all you need to know! Wait! What was the question? evil grin

Well you would think that Washington is fundamentally uneasy about wargamers – people who spend their spare time thinking and creating things for themselves, outside the mainstream, rather than sitting on the couch watching Oprah. Legislation maybe some time off, but be warned, once they've done with the shooters, somebody else will have to be blamed for all that's wrong in society…

Just wait. After increasing the election cycle to a two-year marathon, the next move will be to turn it into a three year ordeal and eventually four years. Upon election the new executive will be deemed a lame duck. May the new race begin.

Why can't we do as the Brits do, a month or two and then leave the electorate alone?
I'm tired now and there are nearly 8 months to go.

Since I'm a historical 15mm guy, the winner will be into 28mm fantasy.

Either way, I think we need a wall between the various scales and plastics people will pay for it!!!

Weasel01 Mar 2016 1:25 p.m. PST

Will either candidate make Rogue Trader be reprinted?

Should domestic miniatures production be subsidized?

Is Fantasy Flight "Too big to fail"?

If we adopt pre-measuring for all wargames, how will our children compete against Chinese students that train in guessing artillery ranges?

Bashytubits01 Mar 2016 1:26 p.m. PST

How about subsidies for figure manufactures so we can buy big armies on the cheap. Throw in painting services subsidies with that too.

Who asked this joker01 Mar 2016 1:33 p.m. PST

I think there should be a database listing people who game exclusively in soft plastic. We have to keep an eye on them you know. They will be the ruin of the whole hobby.

Why can't we do as the Brits do, a month or two and then leave the electorate alone?

Ah, don't forget we have an election in summer to see if we stay in the EU!

Asking the public to make a decision is rarely a good thing to do, they most often get the wrong answer!!

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut01 Mar 2016 2:37 p.m. PST

I will vote for a candidate that gives me a free DBA 3.0 Neolithic Libyan army! But only if it is in 28mm.

Personal logo Tacitus Supporting Member of TMP01 Mar 2016 2:39 p.m. PST

Tabletop battlefields (including buildings, foliage, and vehicles) must be accessible to handicapped infantry. In the US, praying for a '6' while gaming a US force is unconstitutional.

TMPWargamerabbit01 Mar 2016 2:55 p.m. PST

I doubt politicians could read the result from a themed d6. You know, the d6 with a funny logo for the one or six…. will totally confuse them when rolled. But no worry, the not so secret service will seize the d6 as a possible deadly projectile.

Now… if a rare candidate steps up and can figure out the odds for rolling two sixes on two d6…. watch him or her carefully. They could be foreign agents… or polling.

Zargon01 Mar 2016 3:28 p.m. PST

Neolithic Libyan army painted in PC pink?
Oh the horrors of those that deem themselves worthy of leadership and then force us to chose amongst them. I say the losers should be willing to be guillotined, then we know they are talking with conviction.
Oh I laugh at all your rips gents but I sound hollow and cracked :)

evilgong01 Mar 2016 4:03 p.m. PST

I've met a number of senior politicians who are interested in military history.

There are 63,000 people in the electorate that votes for me (at local government level) so I guess that makes me a wargamer-politician.

Having mastered Barkerese there is no policy or legislative document that looks scary to me. And a background in wargaming is good schooling to see how people will game any public policy to produce perverse outcomes.

Imagine a massive wargames room in the penthouse of every Trump Tower. Ah the luxury….

The Gray Ghost01 Mar 2016 5:17 p.m. PST

I heard they are going to tax the number of dice we have

Sloppypainter01 Mar 2016 5:22 p.m. PST

I want 40mm Amazons in pantsuits!

Twilight Samurai01 Mar 2016 6:43 p.m. PST

I want to vote for the guy who's going to re-build the Great Wall of China and make the Tlaxcalans pay for it!

zoneofcontrol01 Mar 2016 6:46 p.m. PST

$15.00 USD/hour minimum wage for all FLGS employees.

Free healthcare for all troops/figures that fail a die roll to save.

Tax incentives for all shovel ready terrain projects.

Straight up or down vote on all Rules Lawyer nominees.

Narratio01 Mar 2016 8:05 p.m. PST

We need stronger Dice Laws!
Mandatory 28 day waiting period before you can actually hold the Dice!
Outlaw all forms of automatic dice rolling towers.
Ban the sale of Assault Dice (deemed to be those with more than 6 sides)

Yes, things like this will make America Strong once again!

Toronto4801 Mar 2016 10:59 p.m. PST

Each candidate would insist on doing their own scale and would not game with anyone using a different scale

Bismarck02 Mar 2016 11:05 a.m. PST

I think everyone above definitely need to take their meds.
The delayed effects of debate watching overdose has taken its sad toll. Television and news broadcasts must be avoided at all cost to prevent further development of Post Primary Stress
Disorder.

Inkpaduta02 Mar 2016 11:39 a.m. PST

Hey, we should form a super-pac and then we could put pressure on politicians on war gaming matters. What say, everyone put in a million dollars?

Old Glory Sponsoring Member of TMP02 Mar 2016 1:46 p.m. PST

Also, there will be a new law making it compulsory that every American -- for the good of the many (via American employment) -- purchase a minimum of 15 packs of Old Glory figurines a year. Of course this will not effect the price of the packages (Heh, Heh,Heh) !!!!

If 5mm gets in, I'm moving! (Definitely not to Canada, I already live in a cold climate)

Weasel02 Mar 2016 5:34 p.m. PST

I'm not saying that 20mm figures are bad, I just don't like 20mm culture.

Old Glory Sponsoring Member of TMP02 Mar 2016 7:10 p.m. PST

Also – all wargaming and tabletop terrain should be free.
!!!
You deserve it !! Why should you have to work, strive, pay for, and sacrifice for something that is not really necessary and will only make your life and gaming a better experience???

Sorry..but when you hear one party support GW's pricing policies…and another denounce them with glowing platitudes about making "40K Great Again!", you just have to wonder what rabbit hole you've fallen into.

@Weasel LOL! But we have a unique and ancient culture..unlike those 3mm folks…they support socialized FLGS for pity's sake!

Ottoathome03 Mar 2016 9:57 a.m. PST

No matter how you dress it up, this is dawghouse bait.

To answer the OP.

Haven't bought 25s since 1975. Not my monkeys, not my circus.

Don't play DBA. Not my monkeys, not my circus.

Will not play FOW again, once was more than enough. Not my monkeys, not my circus.

I did like prefer the colour ranges from the old GW paints. The internal lips were useful. Rarely use GW paints now.

Ottoathome03 Mar 2016 2:49 p.m. PST

Lead lives matter.
