So, I already found 2 or three topics about basing 15mm and I see a lot of flexibility but with some sort of standard for 40mm frontage by 15mm for heavy, 20 for medium and 30 for cavalry, with different numbers of figures per base.

Now I would like to play Sword & Spear fantasy once it's out, would the above basing system works? Also what about the other player? If frontage is different armies are not compatibles? Any other suggestions from the experts in 15mm?

If you base on 40mm frontage using steel bases, you can make movement trays out of sheet magnet really fast. You can rebase an army in an hour for various rule sets.

I would assume that it will use the same frontages as regular Sword and Spear. I believe for 15mm they suggest 6cm by 3cm. But as long as both armies are mounted similarly you can mount your armies on whatever sized base you like.

Interesting, any good place to buy steel bases in mainland Europe?

80mm is the normal frontage for 15mm units in Sword & Spear so the 40mm frontages you suggest will work fine, and will be flexible enough for you to play element based games also.
