I had a dream last night.
We where watching a Disney movie. And they always have trailers on their dvds.
The first few ones where old classics. Beauty and the beast ect.

Then came a movie i had not seen, about a young man going to war (Philippine-American war) people get gunned down.
Yet it was still a Disney cartoon, with a talking parrot.
The animation style was like those 70s Disney movies like Rescuers!

So should Disney make this the movie?

People dying is a staple of Disney movies. Usually bad guys. But really, death in Fisney doesn't get much more dramatic than Scar killing Mufasa in The Lion King. And there was a lot b of dead people on both sides of the war in Mulan, it was just usually off screen. But we did see most of the Mongol Horde get wiped out in an avalanche caused by a rocket.

So, yes, this movie would be great. Especially if they could put as much attention to historical accuracy and decent portrayal of non-white culture as they did in Pocahontas.

Mulan has a body count in the thousands.
Tough Disney Princess!

"Disney" and "historical accuracy" can only be used in the same sentence if the words "lack of" are placed between them.

But then, of course, Disney is part of Hollywood and we all know the premium Hollywood places on "historical accuracy".

What about the dream where the characters from ducktales(Donald, scrouge, huey, louie and douie) go around in a secret nazi base with duel MP40s and gun down nazis (think Clint Eastwood in Where Eagles Dare)
Magica de spell was the nazi leader (in uniform )

Some people need to spend more time painting miniatures…

Disney has an uncanny ability to kill off the parents of main characters

Must be a totally different Pocahontas than I was forced to watch.

I think he was being sarcastic.

Could we call it "Inglorious Mallerds"? "The Fowl Five"? "The Great Eggscape"?

I'd pay good money to watch that.

He didn't manage to kill Davy Crockett though? At least, not on screen. If I remember right the film just faded out with Davy knocking Mexicans over with 'Old Betsy'. Mind you, it is some 50 years since I saw the film!

So basically a cartoon version of "Once Before I Die"?

Early Disney movies could traumatize viewers as seen by the deaths in Bambi and Old Yeller.

Brownbear29 Feb 2016 12:26 p.m. PST

take a good book, let Disney make it into a film and you don't recognise it as it mostly is done badly.
