On my garage renovation project. The floor has been painted with epoxy garage floor paint. All that remains are the baseboards, electrical fixtures including the AC, and installing the steel cabinets. One more week should do it I think. Next weekend it is a trip to the Austin IKEA for bookcases. The the following week is spring break and the daunting task of moving minis out of storage into the room and the stuff that was in the garage into storage.

"I love it when a plan comes together."

Looking good! I can't tell from the pictures. Is it a sizeable room of gaming goodness or just a miniatures painting/craft room?

Waco Joe28 Feb 2016 10:48 a.m. PST

The space is approximately 18'x22'. The wall shown in the top picture will have bookcase the length and will hold my minis and books. The wall shown in the bottom on the left will have a set of steel cabinets with a work space for painting. I have a moveable 4'x 8' table for gaming which will be in the middle. Off screen is a 4'x4' nook which will hold a full size fridge and a storage rack for kitchen gadgets (necessary compromise).

A TV mounted on a wall and a few comfy chairs should complete the room.

How come the end is always nigh? Do many other words could lose a "t" at the end… the end is eigh, the end is ti, the end is sca… the list goes on and on..,

Looks good, though I thought this was about another "end" which many predict all too frequently, but never seems to happen.

I know what you mean Mako. I hope my mancave can double for a survival bunker after the elections wink

While at IKEA you might look for this:

It is called the Alex and comes with casters. Units can also be stacked by not installing the wheels. I spent about an hour at the Austin IKEA trying to see if I could make a bookcase with sliding shelves but their fixtures are all too deep and made for closet organization.

Looking very good and well planned. Don't forget some foam carpets to stand on. Much nicer for your footsies.
