I posted a "how to" on the movement stands I will be putting together for Diecon, Origins and possibly a couple of other conventions this year.

Please take a look and let me know how crazy this idea is!

Looks workable.

I've made some smaller, similar attachments myself, for my own use.

Just make sure the bases are heavy enough to ensure they stay put, and don't tip, even when bumped, since the domino effect could be horrific, otherwise.

Good point. I was just going to punish the first person that knocked one over in such a memorable manner that everyone else would be much more careful.

However since my refugees tended to get trodden upon in years past and I was polite enough not to throw a hissy fit I doubt I would really make much of a scene if a stand got knocked over

I think the strips need to be at an angle to be 'echelon', but that's just the quibbler in me.

Certainly less droop than I expected.

Thanks for noticing how perky my squadron stands are, Doug! I found some really cheap (like less than 2.00 a pop including shipping) donut weights that I hope will work for the stands as suggested by Mako11. I will keep folks posted when they arrive. Otherwise I may need to get dumb-bell weights (which have a one inch hole, so would be prefect to go around the stands

Thanks for noticing how perky…

Really, how wrong was that? Let me count the ways…

Perky is the opposite of droopy, right?

OK, they are bright purple, so I may have to cut some fabric to go over them
