Hello all.

Going through the Frostgrave rules the other night, I read the rules for players being able to establish a base during a campaign.

This really got my imagination going, I love the idea of a small warband taking refuge in a wintry, cold ruined building and setting up a barracks and wizard's study.

I thought for my Frostrgave games I would do some visual stuff for the game in the form of actual minis.

For regular games, having a couple tents and camp fires in the rear areas of the gaming board really add to the feel of the warbands being on the march and having to protect themselves from the cold.

Found this great website, Tabletop-art.de that sells really great bits and accessories perfect for Frostgrave:

I also thought that warbands would be carrying things like candles, maps, scrolls, etc., for finding their way through the city:

The wizards of course would have an assortment of books collected at their operating base:

In addition to this site, Armorcast has a few really useful bits for Frostgrave:

Wizard's potion still:

Temple/church pew(I'm thinking of a warband salvaging old furniture from an old ruined temple, inn, or house and using it in their base):

Salvaged book shelves for holding books, scrolls, and potions:

Finally, I found this really nifty-looking campsite from Scotia Grendel, perfect for a warband-sized force like you'd have in Frostgrave:

I think a perfect terrain piece for use as a warband's base is Game's Workshop's Dreadstone Blight. Being the ruin of a wizard's tower, it has just the perfect look of a ruin that a warband would take shelter in. Luckily, I already own this piece which I use primarily for my Warhammer games:

The links below are to pictures of my own Dreadstone Blight. Even though all of my Warhammer terrain is painted and based for spring/summer type season games and have green grass and bushes, the grass effects on it are subtle enough that if I put it on a snowy terrain board it would still fit in well:

I went ahead and bought all of the above accessories for my Frostgrave games, the prices really aren't too bad, even for the Euro-priced items. I'm really looking forward to painting and basing these and adding some visual flavor to future games in the frozen city.

Very, very nice! I like the idea of building your own base, it could be used in a few home-brewed scenarios.

In fact, this has just stimulated my imagination beyond rational sense… something akin to Baba Yaga's Hut for an Enchanter…

Acheson Creations has a lot of useful items too.

Might be worth checking out the Accessories available for Mantics Dungeon saga as well. If I recall correctly £10.00 GBP gets you a pack of Treasure chests, Lecterns, Sarcophagi, tables, bookshelves, sideboards etc. Doors atc are sold as a pack to. Might be handy for furnishing buildings in a ruined city.
