Just seen this new ancient naval set from Osprey. Has anyone played it? if so, what is it like? |

Ah. I am curious as well. Looked around the internet but nothing was found. |

The best thing Osprey's done (for themselves) is numbering the Blue Cover rulebooks. That pretty much ensured that OCD 'completionists' like me would be forced to buy them all. After all, having a skipped number on the bookshelf just won't do. |

I'd really like to know what sort of scale of fleet this is aimed at? Are we talking a dozen models or hundreds? The blurb suggests Salamis and Actium are playable, but at 1:1? |

I'm looking forward to this as I'm thinking of starting a 1/1200 scale trireme collection (might also get some of the lovely Langton 1/300 scale models for my 6mm Greeks while I'm at it). Would be very interested to hear more about these rules. They do look promising but Osprey's rules publications have been a little… uneven shall we say. |

Of the Osprey rules I've bought: Lion Rampant and Dragon Rampant are excellent En Garde is very good Fighting Sail is quite fun, if not very historical 'On the Seven Seas' doesn't seem to work very well. Since none of them is expensive I don't mind buying them to try. |

and 'Dux Bellorum' looks interesting but I've never got round to trying them out (been using Saga and Dux Britanniarum and Lion Rampant for Dark Age games). |
