The magical rug was scanned for any residual magical spell powers, and all traces were deleted…

So, how exactly does one keep from flying off of a magic carpet, during acceleration, deceleration, turns, and other maneuvers?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Artificial gravity and inertia dampers. Duh!

Mako: Great question.

JP2: Great answer.

Zee: B4 renting or purchasing an FC, check with the ZZZ to be sure your sales company is a reliable dealer. I recommend Sky Beems for quick and trustworthy business when it comes to the matter of flying carpets. Best diagnostic equipment, best mechanics, and best guarantee.

A great set of rules for flying carpet games is Jamie Davis' Future Race here: link

It was originally designed for pod racing like in Star Wars Crapisonde I, but it has been adapted to flying carpets air boats, and other races.

The game is a hoot!

Not sure how relevant this is to a fairly light hearted discussion but The Black Company books by Glen Cook had lots of descriptions of magic carpet rides and some of them were really quite scary for the narrator Croaker.
