I always wanted a fleet of Chris Foss inspired spaceships but can't recall ever seeing anything really like them.

Looks kind of Homeworld-ish. I seem to remember some Homeworld-themed miniatures on Shapeways.

@Nukesnipe: They should. Chris Foss was a huge influence on the people who made homeworld.

Given that his designs go back to the 70s (if not before – I first saw them as a child in the late 70s, long before "homeworld" was a thing)

Chris Foss is a legend – his artwork was everywhere in the seventies and eighties. Book covers, SF magazine covers, SF Art books, White Dwarf covers…

His incredible blend of impressively rugged – and huge – starships coupled with far more organic designs – seemed the definition of what the future would look like.

His web site is here : chrisfossart.com

He also illustrated The Joy Of Sex – well, an artist needs to eat y'know.

Being of a certain age I grew up with 70's sci fi illustration and just love Chris Foss' spaceships!

@ 20thmaine:

I never knew that … I do have a SF novel somewhere that Alex Comfort also wrote, though (Same author as Joy of Sex ).

Wow,
Those bring back some memories…and answers the question on how to paint my Cold Navy ships!
