"Age of Sigmar Battle Report - War of Storms" Topic

Well, this is it, this is the big one, the culmination of the campaign in the Realm of Life. The Athelwyrd has been found and Alarielle uncovered. There is only one thing for it – we'll have to have a massive battle!

The Story So Far
The Stormcasts had come a long way (especially their leader, Lord-Celestant Gardus), but their quest in the Realm of Life was coming to an end. They had found the entrance to the Athelwyrd beneath the River Vitalis, and Alarielle was within. However, she was not happy and the Stormcasts were confused when they were first attacked by the Sylvaneth. Asking why she was angry, the Stormcasts were answered by Alarielle simply pointing over their shoulders.

The forces of Nurgle had been watching the Stormcasts and had managed to breach the Athelwyrd themselves. They had amassed a gargantuan force and were marching to end the War of Life once and for all. There were not just daemons in this horde, but Rotbringers, Pestilens Skaven and Beastmen, all bringing a tide of filth with them to pollute Alarielle's sacred vale – the entire Grand Congregation of Nurgle…

This battle would be pivotal in the War of Life…

Great battle report. I haven't played that scenario, it was on the list of things to do with our campaign but we didn't make it quite that far.

How long did the game last?

It looks like the big boys had a pretty significant effect on the battle without being totally dominating. That is how we have found them to work. You can't just wade them into the enemy, especially with Paladins running around, but if they are supported they can do some serious damage. It all seems very well balanced.

It went on for about 4 hours or so.

And yes, Paladins are the great levellers for the Stormcast!

Another excellent report! Always seems like the forces of order are on the back foot though, be interesting to read a battle report where they start the game with the upper hand lol.

They had the upper hand a number of times we have played. Most notably in the Reclaim the fallen game where the chaos General was down somewhere on the battlefield and the Stormcast had to find him.
