I have a couple of his books.

Great stories, great man, fantastic life.

One heck of a man.

There was a great documentary about him a while ago. As a pilot myself he was my hero, along with Chuck Yeager. Great respect for all those early test pilots who just got in a plane to see what it could do.

The end of an era.

"When you read through his life story, it makes James Bond seem like a bit of a slacker." That should be on his tomb stone.

Amazing guy who will be missed by many.

He spoke fluent German and before the war had a flight with Ernst Udet. Bet that was a corker! :)

And his exploits with captured German aircraft at the end of the war are amazing. He owed his life to the fact that he could speak German and ask questions to German groundcrew who looked 'uncomfortable' on occassion.

Thanks Eric.

Wow! This is a guy I wish Icould buy a beer for and listen to his stories. Godspeed and Fair Winds Capt. Brown. I pray we may be worthy.
