Hello,

start of my series about the battle of Verdun.
Some pictures of the battlefield, the city, the douaomont ossuaire.
Reports about Fort Douaumont and Fort Vaux to follow.
Text in German, but I hope you like the pictures.
The battle started at 21.02,1916, 8:12.
100 years anniversary.

One of the most haunting places I have visited.

The rooms under the Ossuaire full of human bones leave a lasting memory.

There is still sharpness easily located in the dirt around the battlefield.
