I visited the Alcazar Palace, in Seville.

Among it's innumerable features were medieval steam baths – but not just for the nobility.
As you went further and further into the lower levels, there were more baths, the rooms smaller and plainer, for lesser gentry, courtiers, staff and troops. Further still, and there were stoop-to-enter, cavern-like baths for servants. And as you entered the very furthest, smallest one… as you bent down to enter… someone had written on the wall opposite:

"No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition."

Vandalism? Yes.
Genius? Without a doubt.
