Greetings all!
I am looking to make a 15/18mm vignette of Murat and his ADCs, Staff officers, Guides, some colorful Guard Hussars.in short his entourage.
They are so colorful and diverse it might end up looking like a traveling carnival and Dr Jeckyll thinks carnivals are fun….;)

But, to the point: I cant seem to find anyone that makes a figure wearing a dolman/pelisse/laced jacket with a chapeaux. Am I overlooking an obvious make here?
It seem weird that no one makes this since it was not an uncommon uniform variation.

Does anyone know of such a figure out there, and a brand that makes it (15/18mm compatible with ABs)????

Only thing I can think of would be a General Lasalle figure. Old Glory makes one, but I think the AB one is nice. If you need multiples, you can email and special order it. Might take a little conversion unless you like the pipe in hand. link

At one period, Spanish light infantry during the early Peninsular War had a dolman, and helmet. Might there be officer figures with the dolman, but a bicorne?

My Peninsular War "stuff" is all 28 or 20mm.

TPW15: you are so right! Only small problem is that he has the baggy style trousers and mameluke sabre… I was looking for breeches or pantalons cheval with buttons. Was hoping to avoid doing conversion work. I really am not that good at it ai am afraid. I know, I am being picky here:/ ..

GDP: Worth a check!

Thanks guys:)

Take one of the AB French ADC in hussar rig (if you want the brassard) or just a hussar officer and do a headswap with a bicorne. Its easily done without greenstuff or pinning.
Do you get ABs from Eureka?

Yupp, I get them from Eureka in Australia.
Already ordered up some more figures today to start practicing headswaps again. Only way to really get what I want I guess.
Was thinking of swapping the head of the French the superior hussar officer with one of the ADCs from the french adc set. I only hope that I get good at it fast;)

Gentlemen,

It was very rare for an ADC in hussar garb to wear anything but a fur busby. Not stylish at all to wear a cocked hat. Marbot wore one at Eylau, but only because a head wound prevented him from wearing the heavier busby. You may recall the fate of that cocked hat if read his memoires.

And even if you think a lot of Marbot's memoires is fanciful, a statement about the fashion of the period favoring a busby over a cocked hat should not be considered braggadocio.

PS – no Guard Hussars (actually, I think you mean chasseurs) in Murat's entourage.

Dr J, email me at baxterj at optusnet dot com dot au and lets have a chat :)

Revolutionary period French Chasseurs a Cheval sometimes wore laced dolmans and chapeaux.

Minifigs do them in their Revolutionary War range: link

They also do a nice Lasalle-type figure:

The metal they are cast in is reasonably soft so it should be easy to change the position of the free arm into a pose more appropriate for an ADC.

If you want someone who has also got a feather in his hat (which I imagine is a must for Murat's entourage) then you could even go for a figure from the Regiment Dromedaires – though you will probably want to mount him on a horse rather than a camel:

Widowson: there are some "Garde Hussaren" by Knoetel (the older) in the Uniformenkunde under the titel "Koengliche Neapolitanen Truppen 1812". They are in some pretty spectacular yellow dolmans, breecehs and pelisses with silver lace and white fur. Busbies brown. They are depicted next to "Guides" in white hussardrss with brown lace and white busbies.
Probably none of these ever saw any action, but their unoforms are to cool not to paint up;)

Baxterj: email sent!

SJDonovan: those are brilliant! They might be a little on the small side next to my ABs, but none the less, I might have to get these. Great idea with the dromedaries:)
