My last batch of models order from Shapeways included some "1/600" scale mortar barges suitable for riverine operations on the Mississippi River. Sadly, the air quotes are required as I don't think these measure up to be 1/600 scale products.
That's not to say they are bad models, they are just too small to be 1/600.

I agree, they look like they are pushing 1:1200. Perhaps mislabeled? |

I did reach out to Matthew and raise the question of the scaling of the mortar boats. He responded saying he'd look into it. Since the mortar rafts no longer appear on the shops page, I think it's safe to say that they are in for 'retooling'. |

Good for him to fix the problem. I prefer metal but he has some good products that fill a niche. Also it is easier transporting plastic around then metal. |
