A Wings of Glory game myself and fellows from the club used to fill a Saturday afternoon:

Interesting idea for a game, thanks for sharing.

Interesting story. Were the De 520s used anywhere other than for self defense and training? Always looking for a chance to use aircraft in unusual ways. ( The Greeks had 9 Moraines which of course I had to model.)

Hi Joe,

I don't believe they were used outside of the Mediterranean by the Italians. They certainly weren't used on the Eastern Front.

But, with the sometimes odd choices made in the infrequent releases for less-popular nations, I suppose we work with what we get.

CY6 Main Rule book has a few scenarios pitting Vichy De520s against P40s of the RAAF and I believe some Med Wildcats.

I also remember the De520 counter in the AH 'Luftwaffe' Game. So a German, probably training, unit?

Bulgarians also used them.
