And it's a beauty,Trident 40mm Indian, courtesy of Doug at Miniature Service Center. Mine is FIW-8,standing firing. There are clear photographs, both painted and unpainted,on the website(would that all makers would go to this much effort!).
The figure displays very well what I like about 40mm(aside from the intimidation factor)--enough space for natural, rather than caricatured, anatomy, and details such as weapons that look like muskets instead of planks.

Almost all of my 40mm are Sash and Saber, still in boxes from the move,so I can't make a side-by-side comparison, but the Tridents may be slightly larger than the S&S.If so,a thinner base should be enough to take care of any anomalies. On the other hand,I see several posters here have said they go together well,so…

I'd like to hear what the other free figure receivers think,as I believe there were other choices.
Once again,thanks,Doug!

Terrement,I know just what you mean--I have a pile of Old Glory 25s,most,I'm sorry to say, still awaiting paint. One of their best lines,IMO.Didn't stop me from buying a bunch of S&S. Eyes bigger than brain!

Received my figure also. Excellent Sculpt with easy to paint detail. I've been on the fence with this range but the figure certainly convinced me.

Received mine a few days ago, charging indian with axe, musket at trail. Super nice. So outclasses my 28s. Maybe just one period…

Famous last words, huh?

I purchased and painted a couple dozen of rev. war figures last year. These are perfect for skirmish gaming. I am involved with too many other projects right now to get them. Possibly in the future. I would love to use these for a FIW skirmish game. I'm a real fan of Doug and co.

I collect FIW 28mm and very few match the quality of these 40's.I agree 100% with the OP's comments.I may get a few of each type just to set in my curio cabinet.I didn't get the free one as I didn't want to take one from someone who may collect the range.Doug has a winner here.

I have both Trident and S and S and I think they mix well for the most part.

Be sure to send Doug pictures of your miniatures in action. He really enjoys seeing those. I was just at The Miniature Service Center playing a French and Indian War town raid skirmish game with his 40mm figures. Super fun nail biter scrum, that went to the last die roll. Awesome eye candy of a board.
