I suppose an update from myself is long overdue since my TY collection has grown a lot since my last post. Here's where I stand right now. I don't play my Soviets and East Germans at the same time at maximum capacity, so I'm dual-using my BMP's, BTR's and BRDM's for both as "Warsaw Pact" vehicles. These vehicles only have white numbering on them without any other insignia to mark their nationality. I did allocate T-72's separately for the Soviets and East Germans because they are in different schemes and have their own national emblems.

I also have lots of infantry and BF terrain that I'm not going to bore you with listing them.

I haven't gotten anything for "Free Nations" yet but the French is really tempting.

I've just taken delivery of the last few bits of my US Marine army once these are done I'll move onto a Warsaw Pact army but I'm undecided which one at the moment

Any my marines now stand at

Rumour has it that there's a new Warsaw pact book out in October with Czechs, Poles and possibly Soviet B divisions (woo T-62s) in it

Just put another Jagdpanther together too,got her primed also.

Also a pair of M1 Abrams tanks,for the challenge.

And I just bought the Iron Cross book,unit cards,and Afrika Korps command cards.

And nearly done w/ an HS-129,and trying to decide to mount either the 30mm or the 75mm cannon on it.

Went with the 30. Good for mid or late war FoW

Wow, 28mm, you've really gone all-in! Those are far larger than any one of my group's armies.

I got a surprise tax refund last year (law change in my favor, plus interest on the taxes I had paid then), so I started into some VDV forces. Unfortunately, PSC didn't have many available for sale, so I only have a platoon of 3 ASU-85s and a platoon of 4 BMD1s (haven't mounted missiles on them, but I can make either -1s or -1Ps), plus SA14, AGS, and 82mm mortar teams. Basically cleaned out the entire set of 15mm VDV from PSC at the time.

Also picked up 20x T34s for my Engineer-Sapper battalion. I think I'm going to paint them in camo, for something interesting.

And tweaked some of my long 75 Pz IVs with the ringed turret armor for Ghost Panzer. Also am looking to add some T-62s for my TY force.

Just added 20x BF T-62M's for my Category B GSFG armor forces and 10x Skytrex T-72BV's (with Kontakt-1 ERA) since the Zvezda T-72's have the later Kontakt-5 package. Also bought 3 more Bundeswehr Leopard 2's since they're now available individually through the modern Tanks! packs from GF9.

Thinking about taking the plunge into FOW4 next. Believe it or not, I've never played FOW before.

If anyone's interested in a homebrew TY card for the VDV ASU-85 let me know. I previously made cards for BMD's. Just tell me what the armor values and special rules should be.

Might be great to get some Guards Paras (3rd GPD,etc.) in the mix too.

And I tweaked a platoon of my Pz IIIs w/the long barrel 50mm guns with the "uparmored" feature on the turret front.

And added another PzIV(now 12 total) as well as a 4th Tiger 1 E to the stable. Also some buildings.

Also,scratch building a bridge with wooden coffee stirrers and Elmer's. It's not the best looking,but will be useful on the board.

In the Oil Wars book, BF has both Merkava 1s or 2s (I think they're 2s) and Pereh missile-carriers.

I may pass on OW since the ME is not as interesting a setting as western Europe, but the IDF is tempting. Trying to prepare my wallet for the hit when BF kicks off its LW launch for FOW V4 on June 6. Just ordered Great Escape Games' 'Seven Days to the River Rhine' rules to see how it plays compared to TY though:

Started my sixth TY army (seventh if you count my sizeable USMC force with 15× M60's, 12× HMMWV's and 4× Amtraks separate from my US Army) a couple of weeks ago, IDF from the "Oil War" supplement. Wasn't planning to but my FLGS was having a sale and I just couldn't resist. Here's what I got:

2× Kahalani's Warriors starter sets (6× Merkavas and 4× Cobras)

Merkava Platoon (5 more Merkavas to bring my total to 11)

2× Magach 6 platoons (10 Israeli M60's)

Pereh anti-tank platoon (3 vehicles)

24× M113's (enough for all the variants I need including APC's, mortar, VADS and TOW carriers)

4× M48 Chapparal SAM tracks

4× ZSU-23-4 Shilka AAA tracks (Zvezda)

6× M109 field artillery tracks

2× Mech Infantry Platoons

4× A-4 Skyhawks with "camel humps" (Platz)

I went with Zvezda for the Shilka AAA tracks because I prefer plastic over resin & metal.

OTOH I decided to stick with the Battlefront resin & metal M109's because the all-plastic Zvezda M109 on the right has no sag on the tracks.

I went with the plastic Platz 1/144 A-4's because most of the Skyhawks in the Israeli air force had the "camel's hump" electronic bulge in their spines by the 1980's. The BF Israeli Skyhawk for TY is the same '60's and '70's era one used in FOAN and 'Nam without the distinctive bulge.

No hump ☹

One Shot Decal offers 1/144 Israeli Skyhawk waterslide transfers. Perfect!

It's probably the same reason why I insisted on getting 4× 1/100 Franklin Mint Metal Collection AH-1T Sea Cobras for my marines because the USMC never flew the single-engined, flat-panel canopied AH-1S Cobras the Army had.
