Genuine mammoth ivory D20s. $248 USD each, in an Eastern Aromatic Cedar box (it says here) with a black walnut insert. Obviously.

I assume they are carved by Arctic hunter-gatherers in their spare time.

Buying a pair of these dice seems a touch ostentatious – – -

A pity they aren´t D6s, then I could use about twenty or so…

Sorry, not in the budget.

Then again, when I saw the headline, my first thought was, the traditional answer--Penicillin.

But, do they come with a 'roll well' guarantee?

For those who lack Fortitude.

I thought the sale of ivory is banned?

Not MAMMOTH ivory.

I posted this on a few sites/Facebook pages, and the results are --

"I want one!"

"What kind of idiot wants one?"

"I never spend more than 47 cents on dice."

"Does it roll properly?"

"It's a waste of money!"

"You just said you spent more than that on (insert waste of money of choice)

"People can spend their money on anything they like!"

"Does it smell funny?"

"Won't this endanger mammoths?"

Winston Smith05 Feb 2016 5:28 p.m. PST

I am looking at them from a manufacturer's perspective.
Obviously you can't grind up and melt down mammoths to cast them.
That must be some tedious milling procedure, particularly to make them pass Lou Zocchi's stringent "roll true" standards.
No wonder they cost so much! grin
Mammoth ivory is dirt cheap!

At that price they better roll high.
Or low if I am shooting in TSATF.
Maybe each one should come with a Certificate of Bias, showing how they roll. I'm not paying that price for some damn random numbers! I want to kill!

That would be awesome for Frostgrave…

I might order a set along with baby seal fur gloves to roll them with.
