I'm looking for some rules that would cover very, very late 19thC small European battles with 28mm figures. GASLIGHT is OK, but feels a bit clunky. Are there any very late period mods for Black Powder ? Maybe where a stand of figures represents a half-company ? Failing that is there a set mods for Bolt Action that would cover the 1895 – 1910 era ? Anything else ? TIA |

ahhhh, the Edwardian Period. What scale are you interested in? Larger battles or skirmishing (since you mention Bolt Action)? I like using old school rules for this, so Edwardian Splendor for that. Larger battles, I think I would go with Neil Thomas One Hour Wargames and use the WW1 rules in it. |

Yes, I've always enjoyed the Late Victorian / Edwardian ‘Invasion' fiction – from Battle of Dorking to War of The Worlds, and there is a new Kickstarter offering 28mm 1900 period Germans and British Home Service troops – complete with Lee-Metfords !!. It's still got over 4 weeks to run, but is well on target already and before I dump some cash I am intrigued to see what rules might fit either a large skirmish/company level game or maybe BP as a battalion level game. |

I'm excited about the Empire in Peril KS as well link. We'll be using Battles by G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. |

How about rules for the Balkan wars ? They might do. |

Battles for Empire? Principles of War? I'm sure they would both do. Both are a bit vague about unit scales, so you could easily have a stand as a half company. |

POW has been my go-to set for 19thC warfare for almost 15 years and I think it's one of the best systems out there. Sadly underappreciated nowadays. I've been looking and while there are innumerable late 19thC rulsets for the period 1880 – 1910 none really accommodate the theatre and armies that the figures are aimed at. There are rules that deal with the massive clashes of armies involved in the Russo-Turkish, Sino-Japanese, Russo-Japanese and Balkan wars but none apparently that involve less than at least a Division on each side |
