There are photos and a brief overview of two recently completed Tervingi commands. This brings the total of enemies of Severan Rome to 49; many being double or triple sized armies with the majority of these facing the eastern frontier.

Friday is our DBA game night and I just may do one of the scenarios I have been planning for the Severan period, a civil war.

Write up and photos next week.

Cheers,
Robert

Looking forward to the civil war battle. Like the Romans didn't have enough enemies, they had to fight each other!!!

@ mghFond,

Almost all our big battle games using DBA 3.0 have been relatively quick (+/- 90 min.).

However, with all the recoiling and pursuit this will be a meat-grinder of a match and a winner will be decided as to who uses their reserves well and at the right moment.

I expect this to be a minimum of two hours or more game.

The scenario will mimic the Battle of Issus fought between Septimius Severus and the usurper Pescennius Niger.

Date: May 194 AD, Climate Dry, P. Niger, defender, S. Severus, attacker.
