Does anyone make 28mm WW1 germans in a European uniform (field gray tunic, trousers and jackboots), but with peaked caps instead of steel helmets or pickelhaubes? I know NCOs and Officers routinely used this kind of headgear, but I'd like these for the enlisted men as well. Mind you, I'm not talking about the Feldmutz: that had no brim. |

Think mountain troops wore them, so you could try looking for such ranges. Scarab miniatures maybe? |

Are you asking about the Dienstmutz? If so, I don't believe enlisted men would have worn it at the front; it was more of a rear area cap for EMs. If you want to go with Austro-Hungarians you can get an early war field cap. |

I already have some Austrians, some of the excellent ones from Brigade Games, I believe. I love the look, but I was hoping for a peaked cap, rather than the Austrian Bergmütze. I was kinda hoping the overall look of the minis would be like this:

Hmmmm. That picture reminded me of early war Russians. Footsore makes some. Don't know how different they are. The other thought would be to do some head swaps. Could you get some early war Germans and replace the heads with Woodbine Designs British caps – is that close enough? |

Didn't a number of Landwehr units wear the peaked cap in 1914? link |

It's called a schirmmutze, but wether anybody makes them I don't know: link link They seem to have been private purchases rather than standard issue. |

I'd look at various Boxer Rebellion ranges as well. |

Tin Soldier UK made that figure in their Middle East range I just looked at their website Under Turkish trench raiders is a photo of a German MG team with that figure included but not listed as part of the team. Or a listing for German infantry You might ask them |
