Have CWC and Modern Spearhead, looking for any other rules sets for 1/600 or 6mm that cover this scale of game. Made my ORBATS from the above level, so don't want anything too abstract.

Thanks

Try Command Decision: Test of Battle

testofbattle.com/drupal-4.7.4

This is IMHO the best set as well as the best supported. Very knowledgeable community and lots of resources/scenarios that have been published over the years

The only other thing that is coming to mind is Kampfgruppe commander and standard spearhead for ww2 and I think Fist full of TOW's 3 (FFT3) for modern and ww2.

I have only played spearhead/modern spearhead and CWC of the above. I highly recommend the Spearhead family of rules. they look great in 1/600/3mm

EDIT: there is also Battlefront WW2 with the moderns supplement. again I have not played

Command Decision is great if you like games that are a bit more heavy.
Lots of detail in tank stats at different ranges, and the game has a nice flow to it.

You can pull units back, regroup them and send them back in for another go.

FFT3 hits the same scale. Its simpler and very quick to play. Command/Control is not nearly as pronounced but it aims to get a lot of tanks rolling with minimal fuss and very little (no?) record keeping.

Another vote for Look Sarge, No Charts. And I'm NOT one of the authors.

A couple of others to look at are Fist Full of TOWS and TAC:WW2 (not sure what period you are after as this is on ww2 and modern).

It is also easy enough to play 5Core Brigade Commander with platoon bases, just leave the support platoons as individual stands, and push two or three bases together fir the company elements.

Thanks everyone, I own most of the sets mentioned above, need to sit down with FFOT3 and learn the rules. Am starting with 80's Cold War, will then be moving on to '73 Suez and '71 India-Pakistan before going to WWII.

So will likely use a rules set that can cover a WWII-Modern period such as Spearhead, FFoT & BKC/CWC.

GHQ Microarmour The Game is another possibility

Combat Command of course.

I think Command Decision pioneered (or popularized) this troop ratio. Early versions play fast and have a great feel.

Spearhead still has a solid following.

Tac:WW2 – very innovative.

Fist Full seems to always get a few recomedations (havn't tried it yet).
