I've noticed that some manufacturers provide miniatures with Prussian and Swedish cuffs whilst others provide coats with lapels or no lapels. Few, if any, do both. What do people think is more important as part of a range? Would you like a range to incorporate all such differences or do you think the differences in cuffs to be so marginal as to not be an issue on a 28mm miniature? I'd appreciate your views. |

Doesn't bother me at all. |

cuff differences and lace patterns – impossible to do for all the different regiments, certainly not marginal but impossible to realise, pick a typical regiment and then sculpt it. alternativly do two different sets, one with Swedish cuffs the other with the Brandenburg cuff and one with and the other without lapels |

If cuffs are important to you, buy from the manufacturers who make what you want. I freely mix minis from different manufacturers. |

As an example, the Minden range offers Prussians with Swedish cuffs and Brandenburg cuffs (but there are several variants of that too – slashed and not slashed). They also come with lapels. However, I would have to add both cuff styles without lapels to cover most of the variations. Fortunately, the Minden lapel is sculpted in such a manner that I can "convert with paint" and just not paint the lapels. |

personally I find it difficult to tell if cuffs are different from more than 6 inches away, particularly if the mini is holding a musket in a marching pose. Foundry seem to have just gone for the lapel/no lapel version. It's funny how Minden have put emphasis on the cuffs and foundry have more emphasis on the lapels. It's horses for courses I expect… |

DAF is correct. I have a number of Minden Prussians painted "without" lapels. You need a magnifying glass to tell the difference! |
