After a few weeks of coordination, I am excited to announce that I have teamed with Sally 4th to make Combat Patrol(TM): WWII more easily available in the UK and Europe.

Sally 4th is the maker of quality wargaming terrain, including their photo textured buildings.

Potential customers in the UK and Europe explained that the price of shipping one set of cards nearly exceeded the price of the set of cards. Chris Abbey at Sally 4th kindly reached out, and after a little back and forth, we determined that we could make the game available with a UK printer through his Web site for about the same price as they are available from DriveThru Cards but without the high cross-ocean shipping charges.

Lest there be any confusion, the rules remain available through DriveThru as well as Sally 4th. I am very happy with the support and service from DriveThru, and they produce the kind of high-quality, professional cards I wanted for Combat Patrol. Sally 4th will provide the same service and quality on their side of the ocean.

One of the big costs of importing games from the US or anywhere else outside the European Union is in fact import duty. This is charged in the UK at 20% of the cost of product plus postage plus an £8.00 GBP flat charge by Royal Mail / Parcel Force for the privilege of collecting this off you.
By publishing a UK /European version we can avoid import duty not just for UK customers but for any one within the European Union.

I have played Combat Patrol a couple of times now and I am very, very impressed with it. I have been WW2 gaming for just over 35 years, so I have tried out most rules that have been published, and I believe that for innovation, realism and playability this has got to be one of the best. Games are a similar tactical level as Bolt Action. Engagments are between roughly reinforced platoon size forces, units are half squads and individual vehicles and artillery pieces.

The game is very easy to teach new players because of the clever design of the playing cards athat are used for combat resoloution meaning that players can focus on their forces and their tactics rather than the rulebook… Highly recommended!
