Hi all of you. This is actually the second posting regarding my january scratchbuilding project. Not much painting this month since I got all caught up making terrain for my wild West town. After this one I think I am back to painting being tired of cutting balsa strips…as thoose of you who owns a house knows I never gets 100 finished guess its also like that in the World of scratchbuilding…

Very nice work but reminds me of a question I've had recently: Why are so many Old West models built with that 'cut off' corner when most buildings at the time in old west towns don't have that. While I admit my search has not been exhaustive, I've yet to find photos of actual buildings like that from the period. I expect they existed but were somewhat unusual. But in the hobby, seems almost everyone has one. Just wondering – maybe people just like that 'dramatic' element. Again, nice model.

Nice…quick question…what did you use for primer on the wood and to keep it from warping?

Thx for the niceword. Well "cut of corner" not researched much just like the look and think it gives more opportunities to place it there when it comes to the interior IMHO. As for the painting I painted the walls and roofs with spraygun which keep the Wood from warping so actually did not prime it.

Very nice work! Add a jail down the street, and you'll have every indoor setting a Western skirmish game or RPG should ever need.

Lovely building.
My home town was founded in 1871 (during the Wild West era) and still had one building with a cut off corner, probably dating from the 1880s. It was a bank, built of stone to give the impression that it would always be around and your money was safe there (It's still there, but no longer a bank). So, I'd think cut off corners weren't the norm, but they did happen.
