How, by ripping off old scripts? It's time to end this farce, there is no Kirk but Shatner, no Spock but Nimoy, no McCoy but Kelley. And Sci-Fi movies these days are about marketing so there is no guiding genius like Roddenberry. Let us fondly remember the Enterprise as she was not the aberration of accumulated junk she became under Abrahams and the reboot. The new Star Trek has no soul.

Agree Jowdady. Just another "Fast and Furious in Space". OK if you like that sort of thing, but has nothing to do with the spirit or plot of the original.

The reboot lost me with #1. A military force manning a warship that doesn't follow chain of command and willingly gives command to a third lieutenant. It's only saving grave was Emma Swan as Kirk's mother.

You can't fault the reboot for chain of command issues, how many times did Kirk AND Spock go on away missions together in the original show?

I too wondered about a non-graduate from Star Fleet who wasn't even assigned to the ship first being designated as second in command and then, after having been marooned, succeeding to command? He isn't even part of the crew. And Scotty, a guy that no one knows just magically becomes Chief Engineer? And don't even get me started on the later ripoff of Wrath of Khan, no, this crap needs to end. All good things must end and TOS ended with "The Undiscovered Country".

I think if they wanted to honor 60s Trek they should have used different music in the trailer. Something that paid tribute to the dramatic music of the original series.,not the Beasty Boys.

I don't even want to start on it. I will just get angry for the rest of the evening. My favorite series ruined :-(
