Some photos from our annual Australia Day game.

We used the Fontenoy battleground for a final trial of our SYW rules, 'A Glorious War'.

Their centre shattered, the French had their right flank rolled up.

Well done! And a special congratulations for good judgement on the scenario. Picking a battle from the right part of the world and just a war or so off gives you the plausible terrain sometimes lacking in other systems.

would like to see more close-up of your figures. Is there a link to a blog?

The table looks good Ochoin. Do the bases stick to the faux fur? I have been toying with using Faux fur for grassy terrain.

@ Bash. No sticking at all. Once you get the stuff dyed & dried, it's good & without the wrinkles you get on game mats.

Wow, I love it! Do you guys ever not have a beautiful looking game? Being 1/72 just makes it that much better. What did you use for French with no turnbacks? Great Northern War figs? Other than the Prussians, what infantry sets did you use?

Love it!

Hi, John.

As I've said before, if you're ever passing, you got a game with us.

SYW is a real challenge in this scale.

The French infantry (white coat) are metal Wodenfield. The coloured regiments (Etranger) are a privately made metal sculpt.

Cavalry were Zvesda GNW, Revell & a metal type I have no idea what brand they are.rtillery crew Revell SYW & staff Strelets GNW & some private commissions.

The Prussian infantry was mostly the HaT SYW MAC sets with some Revell SYW Prussians & Esci. The cavalry were Italeri 1805 cuirassiers, Zvesda & Revell hussars & HaT 1805 Prussian dragoons.

Artillery crew were IMEX AWI.

As you can imagine, LOTS of conversions. It was really all the extra tricornes in the HaT MAC sets that made it possible.

To make a point, can I tell you I made pigtails & glued them on as just one part of many, many conversions?

Excellent – lovely seeing the 1/72 working so well, and great to hear conversions are still in use – so often we seem spoiled these days, but to hear of gamers using mass conversions, privately produced metal sculpts etc is heartwarming.

Brilliant
