Last weekend in Australia a DBA competition in was run over two days at Cancon, Australia's largest convention. There were a total of 29 players across both days. For those interested I have placed a short summary on my website. link |

Very nice, and it's good to see DBA 3.0, played in a tournament format. In the USA, there has been significant pushback, from the DBA 2.2 crowd. I'm surprised that so many refuse to even try 3.0, but it seems to be following the trend of players just tiring of changing, everytime Barker releases a newer version. The same thing happened, when DBMM was released, where many DBM players just refused to play DBMM. Oh well. We hope to, at some point in the not to distant future, run a DBA 3.0 competition and see how the turnout is! Lou |

Hi, Firstly I wasn't the organiser and don't have the breakdown. Further, being a two day event with an Ancient and Medieval tournaments the final results were a combination of two armies, for most players. The original runners and riders can be found here, one change of players was made due to a player dropping out prior. link Final player scores can be found here: link I hope that helps a little. |

Lou, I don't know where you get your Idea that there's some kind of "pushback" from DBA 2.2 players against DBA three. I have not seen any such activity going on and more and more DBA three showing up. There are going to be three or four DBA three events at the forthcoming Adepticon outside of Chicago over the April 1 weekend. Joe Collins put on a very successful DBA three event at the recent Nashcon. There are still some pockets of DBA mutant games going on but no official DBA. |

Can we please not turn an honest post on a popular DBA event into a negative series of posts. |

Thanks for the report. The development team likes to know what armies were used and which won etc. just to keep an eye on play balance issues. Really like the split tournament to allow more historical and semi-historical match ups. By the way Joe Collin's recent tournament was at Siege of August. NashCon is still upcoming – held May 27-9 (Memorial Day weekend for we Yanks). We plan a DBA 3.0 tournament and I'll also being running Game of Ice and Fire on Saturday night using DBA3.0+HOTT. Let me rephrase that, there has not been to much DBA 3.0 competitions at the major USA conventions. |

Yes Lou… something I wish I could fix… but no time soon. Upcoming we do have DBA at Adepticon… The jury is out on whether I can attend Cold Wars… I would love to… and run a tourney there. Nashcon is definite go… it is held over Labor Day weekend in Nashville and is always a great convention. The guys in Denver have had some quite large tournaments (as large as Cancon). The North east cons lack representation. It is an expensive and long 13 hrs to get to Pennsylvania. Someday I hope to return. Joe Collins |

Actually I've run DBA 3.0 events at Historicon for the last three years. We had both a 15mm and 25mm tournament as well as a big battle Game Ice and Fire game. So three events using some form of DBA 3.0. I'll be back this summer running the same set of events. TomT |
