Beautifully done and very inspirational. It is because of you and your blog that I have been collecting SYW figures for the last year and will start painting them shortly. |

Awesome !!! Mike B PS … You even have lily pads in the pondderschwartzenddunk. :) |
olicana | 29 Jan 2016 9:12 a.m. PST |
The lily pads on Die Hexe Teich. They cover up the line where two pieces of perspex meet – I didn't have a single piece big enough when I made this piece of terrain all those years back. The lilies are small balls of Milliput pressed flat with the blunt end of a Bic biro pen (?, from memory), painted green. |

But do the lily pads have frogs on them? The scenario reminds me of Sawmill Village. |

No frogs. Can't abide the things. I have played that scenario, but I don't have it to hand, and didn't think of it when I was setting this up. Indeed, as I said in the scenario post (see link to OOBs above), I set out the terrain to see what I could do with my new roads. Only after that, and so not to waste my efforts, and as it was to do with my roads, did I decide on this scenario. I guess there are only limited ways in which a march on scenario can be set up, and I guess its the angles of approach that have Saw Mill about it. |

Lovely as always. Your own rules again? Cheers |

Worth it for the title alone – how much? ;) |

Lovely looking start, and I want to see more. Are the rules available for perusing? |

Almost as important, why *are* men like lemons? |

It's a Frederick quote. It goes something like "Men are like lemons, they are there to be squeezed." Rules are my own big battle variation of classic Piquet with something like, but not quite, Field of Battle changes. Classic Piquet is for 12 – 20 units a side. Much beyond that and the and some of the basic mechanisms starts to crunch and break down. My version streamlines a lot of stuff so that big battles become possible whilst maintaining a lot of classic Piquet feel. We've done 100 unit battles with MaLL. Field of Battle is definitely Piquet for big battles or quicker smaller battles but, in consequence, it lacks some of classic Piquet depth and perversity (like the characterisation deck, unequal initiative, and troop types split for movement purposes). I like both classic Piquet and Field of Battle for what they do, but I wanted something in between (typically 50 – 75 unit battles) for my SYW: hence MaLL. MaLL are Classic Piquet Light, Piquet Field of Battle Heavy. |

Ha, trust Old Fritz. :) Thanks for your rules explanation. Sounds like you've tweaked an excellent balance. Cheers |
