I received my kickstarter campaign rewards today. A Handley-Page 0/400 and a Staaken R.VI along with assorted add ons.

These are really quite impressive. You get lots of goodies with each model. And wow, these things live up to the classification of 'heavy bomber'. Giants of the skies indeed!

Check out the unboxing on my blog.

thumbs up I was pleased to receive mine today as well. Looking forward to getting them out on the table.

Mine came on Wednesday and I was quite surprised as I thought we wouldn't see these till next week.

Ooh, they look nice. Always fancied a Staaken to go with our biplane collection.

Their wingspans look longer than weapons range in WOW and WOG.

The G Dog Fezian29 Jan 2016 8:10 p.m. PST

Well Kevin, you'd be correct. Definitely shorter than the wingspan of the Staaken. Just a little shorter than the span of the Handley-Page.

Lovely looking stuff. I still wonder how heavies like these fit tactically in a game? do they just trundle along, with enemy scouts buzzing round them, trying to get enough hits on them? how do they work? I'm interested as I got two, metal, pre-lozenged German Gothas in 1/72, for a bargain, and I'd love to incorporate them into my 'Wings of Blue Max War, 'arry tate' games!

I use a Handley Page 0/400 in our 1/72 scale games. It stands for a "vic" of three. But really, using the model is unpopular with everyone else but me. The others prefer a top view laid on the floor, in scale. Boring. And ugly. But "nothing in this life has any business being perfect."

A zeppelin would likely take up the entire table.

Do these new bombers use the same size base as the Gotha and Caproni?

Thanks

Do the new bombers use the same size base ad the Gotha and Caproni?

Thanks.
