How to make very realistic looking trees

They are very realistic, but they are also very time consuming to make. Still, there are techniques which can be used separately, for other projects. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

Beautiful, but not practical for my purposes

That is a fantastic tutorial. The description is so good even I think I could follow it. As always, won't do exactly the same :) – have been having impure thoughts about Japanese cherry trees – which have a similar structure to the weeping willows ….

There are two themes that stand out really well in this article

- research – what does it look like ?
- trial and error to get the effect you want

I doubt that I would follow exactly that method but I am feeling a lot more inspired
