Looking for suggestions for 6mm mounted crossbowmen or mounted handgunners suitable for enlistment into existing 6mm armies of Baccus Late Medieval figures.

Am I best just converting the Baccus light horse – cutting down their spears and trying to make a simple crossbow?

Would Baccus ECW mounted dragoons double as earlier chaps if painted in livery? I havn't seen any Bacus ECW figs in the flesh so don't know how detailed they are.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers!

I know Irregular has mounted crossbowmen from their Men-of-the-West fantasy line, not sure about anywhere else. I think there are mounted handgunners in their Italian Wars or Late Ren lines too.

Not sure about working with Baccus, I've seen them mesh ok for Napoleonics and I have them for fantasy, but they are different in basing style at the least.

I believe the ECW line has not been resculpted yet, so the two lines may not mesh well. I believe they changed the style of their horses. Better to convert the same line probably. Of course, not much to buy a single pack of each and give it try …

My initial trials at a simple light cavalry conversion.
