Back in December last year I started my first 6mm project: a Greek army that was originally intended for Commands & Colours.

However, things have panned out quite differently and I've yet to play a game of CCA with these lads. Instead, they've been enjoying each other's company during several games of Sword & Spear and will shortly experience To the Strongest! together. I'm new to 6mm but I really like it, so more armies are sure to follow this one, both on the painting table and the gaming table.

The whole project log (three parts) can be found in the links below.

Very nice! You always get that feeling of that true army scale mass in 6mm.

For someone new to 6mm, you certainly did a bang-up job in painting those shields! Are they H&R?

They look great; I always think 3 ranks is just right for hoplites. You should get a lot of use out of them as they'll work with any games system.

Nice work. I am doing something similar in 6mm for DBA, 60mm bases with multiple figures.

Love it!

Thank you for your kind words, gents.

One reason I like 6mm is indeed the sense of mass it gives. Of course, it also helps that it's more economical and faster to paint than the larger scales.
