Picked this up (downloaded this) on a whim recently.

As a stand alone game it is basically like Candyland. You apportion stats to your character at the start (unlike Candyland!) and then you and your opponents if any roll dice to see what challenges await you and roll more dice to see how well you have dealt with them.

Very little decision making here.

BUT

In conjunction with your favorite skirmish and large battle miniatures rules it makes a great scenario generator.

Duels, scouting missions, field battles, sieges, and anything else Sharpe/Girard would get mixed up in.

Highly recommended for that purpose.

The author also has a set of naval rules focused on the RN in the period. I suspect the mechanics are quite similar, and if so this would also make a great scenario generator for naval and shore party actions.
