I've been working on this for some time and now that it's ready I wanted to post some background before I put up the first battle report. I'm hoping to make the full pdf of the campaign available after I run through it once to work out the kinks. I'm hoping you folks enjoy following along in the meantime. link |

Looking forward to it. Where did you get the information and maps? [other than Google Earth] |

Enough sources to need a bibliography! Here are some links: An excerpt from Landis, in Spanish (but good photos and maps) link
A photo exposition for the anniversary at Quinto: link An excellent academic work by Gonzalo Loren Garay (also in Spanish), which is the most exhaustive account of the battle. Starts on page 89: PDF link And many pictures lifted from random internet sources. Also Comrades and Commissars and the two Arthur Landis books on the Lincolns. My write up in the pdf will include a ton of maps and a full historical account, but that will be a while coming. |

Those were a real find. Is there more to the Landis source, other battles? It was fascinating to see that there is a SCW version of Call of Duty. That would be interesting to play. |

Yeah, check out Death in the Olive Groves and the Abraham Lincoln Battalion books by Landis, although they gloss over the less than nice parts about the XV Brigade. Landis hits all the Lincoln battles, and has some decent maps. Oh, that reminds me, here are some more great map images, and include other battles fought by the IB: link I saw the still for SCW Call of Duty, but I'm not big on 1st person shooters. Looks like a solid mod though. |
