Hi all I'm looking for some figure suggestions for a Celtic warband for to represent Gods and Legends. Aside from the Northstar figures what else is out there? I've found a few possibilities in the Celtos range (Brigade Models) but some of there weapons are more like logs or cricket bats. Also the OGAM rules has Fomorians with the "Big" attribute which would suggest they are larger than humans. Any suggestions for Fomorians figures as well? Cheers Kieran |

Hi Kieran, I'm building a Fomorian force using the Celtos figures. They are hefty enough that against the usual ancients figures I'll be using for mortals they are "Big". I also have Norse and I'll be using the plastic figs I have for SAGA. You are right about the size of the weapons, but for the Fomorians it isn't sucg a problem IMO (afterall, they are "big"). I've found on-line resources for OGAM quite limited. Not sure how may people are playing it. JohnG |

Aren't Fomorians just ugly giants? Seems like a lot of companies sell trolls, ogres, and giants for fantasy settings. |

I think some of the sons of kronos from chronopia would work. Foundry may have some. I believe alternative armies also have some. Bronze age miniatures has some norse gods. |

Are you familiar with Alternative Armies 'Erin' range? Their Fomorians are a lot of fun, a bit like amphibious orcs: link |

Thanks for tip for Bronze Age Miniatures! I'll order their Thor. He looks great! JohnG |

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I will try and find some Orcs I like for Fomorians. Anyone had any suggestions for celtic gods and Heroes? |

Funny thing I started writing a similar set of rules and now I don't have to. I think I will make a Celt band as well with Lugh. |

I second the Bronze Age Miniatures Norse gods line, I have them and they are nice. Unfortunately, they are in the lead pile and I haven't been able to get to them yet (well, one I painted up as Iduna with an apple tree but the others are all half painted.) If you are into modeling, Reaper has a cool beastman that makes a nice converted Cerannos if you remove the scabbard, sword, and kite shield which are all cast on. This is my conversion
Standing next to an Arthurian druid for size (I can't remember if the druid is West Wind or Gripping Beast, but he's from a character pack)
Here next to two of my hounds of death, the other seven are waiting to be painted. These are Tom Meier elvish hounds.
I basically put on a round shield from the bits box as well as a spear. I had to green-stuff his weapon hand, cause he's got a gauntlet that didn't fit with my vision of the conversion but you can't see it because of the Ivy on the spear
