Hi Folks

Decided to build a 28mm ECW army and looking for some help.

The core of this will come from Warlord Plastics range (managed to procur a number of box sets) but I want to add some variety to the units with other ranges.

Can anybody shed any light on how the Renegade, Perry and Empress scale up with the Warlord figures.

Am I missing any other key 28mm suppliers?

You can watch the progress of this build on my blog

cheers and thanks in advance

Well, my Warlord, Renegade and Perry miniatures are certainly close enough to be in the same army – I don't have any in the same unit yet but I am starting my Scots Covenanter army soon so will have some then as I am assembling it from various left-overs and as well as some stuff I got on discount

Perry and Warlord mix very well,Empress are a bit smaller and skinnier than the other two but you can still combine them. I have no experience with Renegade in this line. I suspect it will be ok.

Renegade are large. They shouldn't be mixed in the same units with the others.

Perrys and Empress are smaller but mix ok.

Warlord, Old Glory, Foundry, Dixon, and Redoubt all mix nicely.

Yeah..wot The Tin Dictator said!

TAG mix well; and are useful for Scots.

The Tin Dictator is incorrect re: Redoubt miniatures. While the figures are BEAUTIFUL! they are closer to 33-35mm and won't mix with other lines.

Perry mix ok size wise and are plainer than warlord, very easy to paint.
Renegade and redoubt are chunky and taller.
Bicorne somewhere in between.
I have all four and some foundry (smaller than warlord) in my collection.
Empress are anatomically correct but taller. I don't have any as I don't think they match up well with the others.
You probably saw my figures in the GLC game at SELWG last year.
Will pm you as you could pop round and have a look if you want.

I have a mate with Empress says they are gorgeous seeing them tonight to see how they compare.

meant he has Empress figures not with Empress

Renegade, the older Bicorne, and Redoubt will mix, size-wise; the first two were produced by the same sculptor. The newer Bicorne stuff is smaller, and will just about mix with Perry – not sure about the other ranges.

Hi,

Our range was designed to sit in the middle of many of the ranges that I have in my own collection that was started in the early 1980's. Wow that makes me feel old. Therefore Perry, Foundry, Essex, Corvus etc

They actually came out slightly taller than these and pretty much the same size as Warlord plastics foot. Not sure about the cavalry as I do not have any and the Warlord horses might be smaller although they look right in photos.

In short if you were trying to link in with Warlord then our range would work for you.

Hope that helps : )

We have another 40 packs due out in the next month or two so lots to choose from. I think this will pretty much make it one of our biggest and most successful ranges.

Cheers,
Paul

Bonito,

Yes, lovely photos! I read enough French to recognize the word chiens but not enough to understand their purpose. Would you mind explaining?

Thanks,

Bill.

Dear Bill,

Thanks for your interest.
For the non-French speaking here : "chien" means "dog".

I have few bases with dogs :

In this pic more of the same with added TAG (The Assault Group) and a couple of old Minifigs as well -pretty much everything works together although Renegade Are far too big for me.

Old Glory are great and fit in as well-most of my pikes are OG
