linkWelcome from a snowy afternoon here in God's own County Yarkshire, With todays gaming session cancelled I took the opportunity to photograph and blog out the last of my WW1 Naval stash. That's right I have no unpainted WW1 ships in da house ! Plans are afoot to add to the collection but I won't have full Jutland fleets in time for the anniversary this year, but rather than be predictable I'm going for the 102nd. I have done the Germans in the early war "black" scheme, I quite like them, what do you think ? A special ubernavalgeek title if you can spot my accidental mistake. Regards Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |

Ken, They look great. What rules are you using for them? Mark |

No unpainted ships? Is that really allowed? |

Hi Mark, rules wise it's home brew. A development of a WW2 set what I wrote about 25 years ago (and still use), still working on them but will post on blog when I am happy with them. 21eRegt, I have no 1/2400 WW1 ships in da house, having no unpainted ships, that is an entirely different question ! They are beautiful. Love the bases. Just a minor detail none of the destroyers or torpedo boats had wood decks. Linoleum/cortesine for better footing. |

Beautiful work bringing out the details in those tiny 1/2400 destroyers. I wish I had the skill and steady hand to paint like that. |

Dragon6, doing some British destroyers now. Do you have a reference for color of the linoleum for those? Germans seem to have been brick red from what I can find, but haven't found a good visual on the color of the British. To the OP, love the bases you've painted on these! |

gwpda.org/naval/s1200000.htm Try the link above, small ship decking is a material called Cortisine which is mid brown, hence my reference to wood in my blog (it looks the same). The Germans used the same stuff for decking but their brew was slightly lighter in colour. Regards, Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |
