Darn Nice !!!!! I do find Scotia lacking detail you find in other manufactures' models though … But a good paint job goes a long way. |

Legion 4-- Agreed; Scotia lacks the detail of GHQ or the clean casting of CinC. Like the other 1/300 lines, Scotia's APCs are usually close enough to GHQ in size that they match well enough. But their MBTs are noticeably smaller. In the case of the Type 74 and Type 61, the actual tanks are on the small side. And neither GHQ nor CinC make 1/285 versions. So I think they'll probably be okay. |

I agree, they'll work fine … I just like the detail of other ranges. |

I use the CinC AMX30 to represent the Type 74, I cut off the light structure. You could also put camo netting over the vehicles to hide the lack of detail. |

Chris-- Excellent idea. The turrets look similar enough. Any ideas on substitutes for the Type 61 MBT? (Obviously the M47 might be a candidate, or at least its turret). |

Well, Wikipedia gives a hull length of 6.03 meters, while other, more authoritative sources give a hull length of 6.30m The Scotia model hull is 13/16 inches long (.813" or 20.6mm). If the prototype hull is 6.03m, then at 1/285 scale the model hull should be.833" or 21.2" long. This is close enough to the model. If the prototype hull is 6.3m, then the model should be .87" or 22.1mm long. The model would be noticeably smaller for 1/285. It would also be undersized for 1/300 as well. I think that Scotia used a hull length of 6.03m when it made the model. Had they intentionally made it undersized, then the model would have been skinnier. One thought -- I haven't measured the GHQ M41, but its turret might make a decent replacement -- use it on the Scotia hull perhaps? |

T-beard, I do not have a Ty-61, M47 is probably the best one. |
