Der voize,

Unfortunately I do not read… Russian? The pictures looked good but I regret being lost from the first line of text.

I don't play colonials but the one from THW was pretty solid.

I think this question really asks two. Favourite rules and who plays skirmish games. TSATF has long been a classic for single figure grand skirmishes but lots of other games cater to the smaller group of large battle colonial games.

"The Sword and The Flame"

Although for 2nd Boer War we have been using "Fields of Honor" because we play the Boer War at the battalion/commando level.

Victoria's Battles. TSATF just drags on too long with innumerable dice rolls.

'Death in the Dark Continent' and an adapted 'Sharp Practice' for large scale skirmishes, a home-brew version of Science v. Pluck for bigger battles.

But I think 'Men Who Would Be Kings' is going to become the 'go-to' set of colonial rules when they are released later this year. No connection with them but a great set of rules with some period flavour, designed for 40-100 figures per side but readily up scaled to much larger forces than that.

Victoria's Secret,… oh wait, I just like that for the pictures! ;)

Have played a lot of TSATF, mostly with substantial modifications authored by other players. TSATF holds up to a lot of modification. There's no reason not to replace the melee system with something that plays faster. The normal activation system also doesn't work well for games with a lot of players. I guess at some point the modifications can make it into something other than TSATF.

Am about to try a pulpy micro-skirmish loosely based on In Her Majesty's Name. Also hoping to try Congo (Muskets and Tomahawks for Africa).

With a few minor modifications TSATF works wonders for almost any size game.
