The latest CAV design to get "supersized" is the Despot tank. Big main gun, twin HMGs and a flip-up missile tube mount on a low-slung, mean tank design. I like it a LOT, and the casting seems to have improved since I got my beloved 28MM Dictator CAV; although it may just be that the Bigtator was a difficult shape to cast.

The price on this is hard to beat, and it's a limited run. hellionproductions.com ; they may still have some in stock.

They are taking back orders for it. Any chance of seeing a photo of the actual item?

Ah, sorry, Can't right now. It is very true to the computer model, if that helps.

An actual photo is more - umm - saleable....

It is a nice-looking design.

I've got one I've been slowly working on.. it's quite nice. I'll try to post up some pics when I finish it.

Not a big fan of putting treads together tho ;)

Here are links to pictures that I quickly took.. one of the pieces, one of the tank (not put together yet) next to a WH40K Chimera, Necromunda figure, and Warmachine Lancer to help show scale...

What are those units in the back part of the turret - some sort of missiles? In your first pic the diagram shows them on an angle, as if ready for firing (assuming they are missile housings.) Or perhaps the pic was just showing how to insert them...

Anyway, looks pretty cool. Much better to see the real thing rather than an "artists concept".

On a related topic, I was browsing the "Cold Navy" section of the Hellion site (or perhaps it was a linked site) and many of the cool space ships are listed as "Sold Out". Were these limited edition items? Or are they produced in limited numbers or batches? Will more be produced?

Per Cold Navy -

While someone from Xtreme Hobby frequents the boards, I know the answer to your questions.

Greg Bear Ross, who runs Hellion, is also the design lead for Xtreme. It's probably why he has prominant links to the Cold Navy site.

You can go to the Cold Navy homepage coldnavy.xtreme-hobby.com and paw through the news to get the story why stock is low. In synopsis: new production caster and taking the opportunity to do fresh printing and cleanup of masters for the new molds.

The missile launcher on the back part of the turrent can tilt up.. however I don't think it has a way to stay back there.. I was planning to use a magnet to hold it in the up position.. strong enough to hold it when it is close enough but not keep it from going down when you wish to push it back down...
