I'm running a Play By Email Chain of Command game between two of our residents here on TMP.

We're using the TooFatLardies amazing Campaign setting Operation Martlet

Check out Part I on my site and here's a few photos of the action so far:

I just want to say that this could be the last time I post a AAR here as this was my third time to attempt to post it and it just disappeared. Very annoying

I had a huge amount of script and photos in the first draft and it just disappeared completely :0

The next I didn't bother and saved it and it disappeared too.

This was my final attempt. I see for some reason it posted twice.

Anyway it should be a lot easier to do this.

Great stuff WP, glad you persevered.

Posting is a bit of a lottery at the moment it seems, I replied to a post and it ended up on another thread!

Wow! What an amazing AAR.

War Panda – what scale are the figures? Outstanding paint job and stunning terrain…

As always, great stuff, War Panda. Some of those farm shots are eerily realistic – they look like hand-tinted post cards!

Veteran Cosmic Rocker10 Jan 2016 8:31 a.m. PST

It was worth the effort WP – really excellent. Thank you posting.

Thank you guys. Glad you liked it. Posting here is definitely a lottery and it can be frustrating especially when you're starting a new topic.

@ccmatty I'm not sure if I PMed you earlier but the minis are all 20mm

What I mentioned in the original is that the game itself is a Play By Email Game I've been running since before Christmas. I had naively thought I'd have a video out at this stage (an absolute joke) I've been taping everything so hopefully once its all done I'll be able to put it all together, although it would be far simpler to video a solo game

I was really interested how the system would work with this unusual dynamic and I have to say its actually been amazingly enjoyable to watch played out.

Just to give you an idea of how we're playing it: So the players are giving very general list of orders and plus provisional orders and the priority of those orders.
It's my role to fit those orders with the actual dice rolled.

The players have no idea where their enemies JOP's are (they will once this AAR is posted) nor where the enemy is unless they are in clear line of sight or if they have opened fire and even then they don't know what size or quality the enemy is.
How those actual military orders and provisional orders are interpreted, implemented and executed by the rules are at times pretty cool.

The AAR is inspiring and demonstrates that gaming is only limited by our imaginations. The players are fortunate to participate in this game. I agree with the photos that transport the viewer in time.

Seems you have decided to create the next AAR in a format you can save, copy and paste, or provide a link to. Thanks!

War Panda:
Beautiful terrain and minis as usual. You are a master of this hobby and I salute you. The scenario is a tough one for the Brits if the German patrols and deploys well. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Thanks for posting this and good luck with your future posts.
Cheers and good gaming.
Rod Robertson.

War Panda10 Jan 2016 7:07 p.m. PST

Thanks guys :)

Rod you're not wrong about the Brits having it tough. It really is a difficult one. It's funny but playing the game like this makes you realize how random the game is.

When playing CoC competitvely usually I have a general plan that I work around depending on the CoC dice I get but the players plans are really at the mercy of the dice rolls (they don't know what they're getting.) So its a very different game the players are playing
