Nice simple and robust model.

DAPOL have all the old Airfix trackside buildings – the thatched cottage is pretty useful over a wide time range as well.

I believe that the church was based on a real example on the Isle of Wight

Airfix used to be 1/48mm

They'll be 'OO' Gauge so about 1/76th scale.
