If all else fails, hopefully the next one will stand up!

It hasn't collapsed yet.

That would be a loss. I hope they can save it.

Ma Nature gobbles up all. I saw a projection once of how long it would take for Ma Nature to completely eradicate all modern manmade structures – if all human intervention were removed. Shockingly, virtually all buildings would have collapsed within a thousand years. And the most robust of bridges within less than two thousand years….

And it's a river in spate, not a swamp.

Sigh.
Monty Python reference.

Sigh.
Monty Python reference.

Not quite. The actual Monty Python quote is:

"That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp."

Texas Jack05 Jan 2016 12:15 p.m. PST

Sigh.

Yeah, but I couldn't do the "burned down" bit and make the joke work.

By the way, I hope very much that this one can be made to stand up!

I was not aware that we were holding auditions for TMP Pedant.

Winston Smith05 Jan 2016 1:52 p.m. PST

Who said anything about a "quote"?
I said "reference". He said pedantically.

Great War Ace05 Jan 2016 4:13 p.m. PST

The Miniatures Pedant. I like it….

"It fell over and then sank into the swamp" is more or less correct according to the original script (in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Book), having a "That" instead of an "It". But the actor in the film, Michael Palin, got it wrong! Possibly some sort of ad lib. Still, it's ruined the film for me…

Apperently you can't say B*ggers.

Refer the whole issue to the ministry for silly walks.

Don't you mean the argument clinic…..

No, he doesn't.

Is that a five minute argument or the full half hour…and are you arguing on your own time?

Supercilius Maximus10 Jan 2016 12:13 p.m. PST

"What a senseless waste of human life."

Not sure that spate is the right term here. Slow bursting, maybe. Not spate, too slow for spate.
