The books are being shipped and may be purchased by US buyers off The Historical Game Company, LLC website and will be on Amazon.com for international buyers. The books will not be available until February but can be ordered now by US buyers (and in Feb. by international buyers) and will be shipped to US buyers in the order received.

The list of authors and articles for both volumes can be found here: academia.edu

Some teasers and images can be found here if you scroll down and company information can be found in the about section: link

I'd like to order a copy, but every time I enter an order I keep getting an error message

Stever04 Jan 2016 7:08 a.m. PST

Not sure why you are getting that message. I had a bunch of orders come through this weekend and so far have not heard any problems. Can you send me a copy of the message you are receiving to my email: info@thehistoricalgamecompany.com

What will the price be?

Stever05 Jan 2016 6:37 p.m. PST

$ 125.00 for the set of 2 volumes. I posted some pictures today from the books on the Facebook page (link above).

When will it be available in Europe ?

Stever10 Jan 2016 8:56 a.m. PST

It will be placed on Amazon.com for international purchases, likely in the mid to latter part of February. If you are on the sign up list (you can do that on the FB page), I will send out a notice when it is active.

How not to sell a book….

dbf167610 Jan 2016 5:10 p.m. PST

Chokidar,

How would you suggest he sell it?

maciek7211 Jan 2016 6:08 a.m. PST

Ordering to Europe with Amazon means hefty shipping fee.
I order with Amazon.uk and save on shipping

Swampking13 Feb 2016 2:32 p.m. PST

Amazon doesn't have it, neither does OMM.

I'm on the email list and was never notified that the book was available for sale.

Is it still available or has it sold out?

dbf167614 Feb 2016 7:43 a.m. PST

The book is now on sale on their website.

Swampking15 Feb 2016 3:35 a.m. PST

Thanks.

I just ordered my set.

Can't wait to get my hands on these volumes. They promise to be THE books to have on the GNW (or THE books to have been published in English).

Along with the Danish General Staff's account of their participation in the war, the Swedish General Staff's "Karl XII pa Slagfaltet", "Um Die Polnische Krone: Sachsen und Polen wahrend des Nordischen Kriges 1700-1721" edited by J. Kalisch and J. Gierowski and Jan Wimmer's "Wojsko Rzeczypospolitej w dobie wojny polnocnej" (The Polish Republic's Army in the Great Northern War), the "GNW Compendium", will be a welcome addition to the books available on this period. It's amazing, but when I started studying this period 20 years ago, there was nothing besides the booklets published by Pat Condray and a few biographies of Karl XII and Peter the Great in English.

Now, if only some enterprising Russian historians would get into their archives, sort through the mess and start to write their official history of the war, that would make the GNW library almost complete.

My copy arrived today and it is FANTASTIC! The breadth of coverage and the amount of detail is amazing, it truly is a compendium.

Hi all, OMM copies will be arriving in the next 5-7 days.
Reserve your copy by emailing OMM

regards, Dennis

LtJBSz17 Feb 2016 7:21 p.m. PST

I received my copy today. After a quick look, it is worth every penny. If you have any interest in the Great Northern War and you only read English you have to have these books.

dbf167618 Feb 2016 4:44 p.m. PST

Got mine today. Quick service. Agree with LtJBSz. Worth every penny.

summerfield19 Feb 2016 9:26 a.m. PST

Great Northern War book is good and interesting. I wrote a few chapters and supplied many of the illustrations for the Prussians and Saxons. Would have liked them a little larger. Strangely the list of books on the Prussian Army that I have written is missing.

Prussian Grenadiers of the 7YW should be out in April 2016.

Sorry but the historical game company accepted the order but then didn't send the link for paying via paypal… still pending.
There is a possibility to have this book if you live in the old Europe? :-)

dbf167619 Feb 2016 1:52 p.m. PST

Paper battles, I had a problem with the PayPal link, too. I emailed Steve directly and just sent a PayPal payment to: info@thehistoricalgamecompany.com

The book cam in two working days. I live in the U.S.

Paperbattles, if you live in Europe, my website probably would not accept the paypal payment. db1676 was the only US customer so far we had a paypal issue with but as he mentioned, you can just send as a regular paypal payment or contact me at info@thehistoricalgamecompany.com. I am happy to answer any questions.
In Europe, best buying option now is Caliver Books.

Father Grigori12 Apr 2016 6:06 a.m. PST

Just had a look at the pricings in US and Europe. I'd love the books, but the US Amazon listings don't do international shippings, and the Caliver Books price plus shipping to Japan at least doubles the price. I can't afford around 250 quid for the books.

What is it about US companies that so many of them don't do international orders?

Gunfreak Supporting Member of TMP12 Apr 2016 6:31 a.m. PST

Not sure, Mabye because they aren't aware there is anything outside their countrty(or even state)

I tried to order some ACW reenactment gear from the us ones, totally usless won't sent a pare of trousers out of the country(aperantly not even to Canada)

I reviced my books yesterday!

Wonderfull stuff, Only looked through them and read two of the articales.

Father Grigori12 Apr 2016 11:57 p.m. PST

@Gunfreak:

Don't tell me how good they are! As I said, I'm based in Japan, and the price with postage is just too much for me right now. Looks like I'm just going to have to try to pick up a copy 2nd hand at a later date.

Gameguy13 Apr 2016 12:11 p.m. PST

Actually the Amazon posting is cleared for international shipping per the company Facebook page.

Father Grigori13 Apr 2016 2:26 p.m. PST

Will check that. Thanks.

Father Grigori13 Apr 2016 2:31 p.m. PST

@Gameguy

Amazon's FB page may say it's ok for international postage, but their website still flags it up as a problem, so I can't place the order. Will just have to go without.

Stever13 Apr 2016 3:56 p.m. PST

Hi, the Publisher here. Amazon.com is fine for international postage. It has only been a problem so far to Canada for reasons that are unclear at the moment. Amazon has shipped the books to AU, AT, HK, BE, SE, UK, DE, GR, DK and a few other countries per the analytics. My website says "International orders are handled by Amazon.com and can be found by clicking here." I certainly understand if you want to go without but do not want other people being confused.

Father Grigori14 Apr 2016 2:19 a.m. PST

OK. I cheated. I'm placing the order to friend's address in the States, and he'll send it on CoD. Just have to wait…

janner15 Apr 2016 2:54 a.m. PST

I just received mine thumbs up

Gunfreak Supporting Member of TMP15 Apr 2016 3:57 a.m. PST

Copy cat!

Drillmaster19 Apr 2016 6:06 a.m. PST

If Brits order from Amazon.com, book & postage works out over £26.00 GBP cheaper than going through Caliver
