Trying again since my first effort was obliterated by the bug.
It seems like AoW has imploded and is no longer active. I love their terrain pieces and will miss them.
Anyone in the US planning on carrying Perry and Gripping Beast?

As noted above, the War Store carries Perry, and Triangle Miniatures does as well. Apparently, GB's American distributor no longer carries them, so until that changes, ordering direct is the quickest option. Their website is good and I had an order on Dec. 8 arrive on the 19th last month.

You're better off ordering from Perry direct. I find the prices to be better and the service is every bit as good – if not better.

Another vote for ordering direct – that's what I do for both.

You better add Conquest Games and Fireforge to that list also. AoW was also the American distributor for them. I just can't see paying the 25% mark up for shipping when ordering direct from Europe. At least FF does free shipping for over a certain amount.

Perry plastics and Fireforge are pretty cheap if ordered from Wayland Games to the USA.

The Two plastic items that I want are the Conquest archers and the GB mounted Arabs. Not available from anyone in the USA at this point.

TheWarStore carries Fireforge as well as the Gripping Beast plastics (but not the metal miniatures). I just ordered some Gripping Beast directly from England – good service, and they removed the VAT. As many have said you can get Perry from TheWarStore here in the USA (or go directly from their website in the UK). I have found in some cases it was easier to order from TheWarStore, but it is worth comparing the two. In either case the service is great.

I've gotten Perry Plastics from Brookhurst and metals from the War Store

Is Architects of War really done? Or are they just sleeping . .

They're done. Not answering the phone or responding to e-mails. Keeping money and not filling orders. If they ever do come back they have a lot of figures to ship or money to return. The trust level would also be zero.

Truly a shame.

Done isn't the word for it. If they ever came back, I don't think too many companies would extend them any line of credit and allot of people wouldn't think of buying from them ever again. If we ever saw them at a convention I'd be shocked.

I would never say never, after all Michigan Toy Soldier overcame one of their former owner (IIRC) ripping off Peter Jackson. Still I would assume that they would need a whole new group of folks at the top as well as to make good on any people who may not have received their merchandise. Than being said it would probably be less trouble to just start a new company.

Except for shipping charges, import duties and tariffs. Especially for smaller orders. Unless you wait for deals like Foundry just had.

I assume someone will step up, especially for the GB, LBMS, and Saga stuff.

After that is all figured out, I generally get the stuff for slightly less than I can get it at the Warstore. I also like the service from the Perrys better than The Warstore. Of course, YMMV.

Perry Miniatures service is top notch. I only order direct from them as too often the US distributor either doesn't have the amount of items and has to back order or sends a partial order and I end up having to wait several weeks to get the items. Not their fault but have found that large orders are better with direct purchase.
