Starship ranges come in a variety of "sizes." Some model ranges are much larger than other model ranges. A "battleship" might be 3" long in one range, 6" long in another, and 9" long in a third! Do you fight "large" starship ranges against "small" starship ranges, or do you try to use ranges of equal sizes? |

Unless there are obvious features showing a "scale," I could care less. I have even used starcraft miniatures as drones (and even scenery) for 28mm miniatures. Scale, shmale. |

Full agreement – until it comes to the newbies who want to do Enterprise vs Warbird and the models come from two vastly different ranges… That just looks silly. |

I mix large and small models. |

The only preference I have for scale is that different size classes are visually distinguishable. For example, I use a roughly 3" Galactica and Pegasus and 1" Vipers and Raptors in my boardgame. The vipers and battlestars are clearly not to scale with each other, but I can easily visually identify the fighter class units from the capital ships, so it's all good in my book. |

I have fleet scale(small) Medium(most of the more popular ranges fit this size IMO) and Jumbo, firestorm Armada ships are ginormous. |

I try to get the different size class ships about the same size. |

You can't talk about spaceship size without knowing this… YouTube link |

Thumbs up, Cerdic! Usually, I'll put them side-by-side; if they don't look jarringly out of scale, they'll play together. I won't necessarily play BB from company X AS a battleship with DD's from company Y, if those 'destroyers' are appreciatively larger. Known ships from known backgrounds are a bit different, but even ST took the same ship, BoP's are the best example, and used them at different sizes across the shows. Doug |

I like there to be a tactical meaning to the sizes of different sized ships, tough not a strict scale. This is a descendent of building simulations, tabletops, wargames, and 1:1 training venues involving warships, commercial ships, pirate motherships, and small boats of various stripes. You should go play in this Arizona restraint.
… or maybe one of these locations.
And we all know Disney was prepared long before they bought the Star Wars property. |

As long as the points of scale are not too obvious (cockpits, doors), I don't care overmuch. |

I prefer smaller miniatures simply because some (e.g most Spartan miniatures ships) are simply too big to be practical. That being said, I would like to have a few Firestorm Armada escorts & frigates to use as cruisers, battlecruisers & battleships. |
