I've been painting som Barbarian foot this week but thought I would share my speed painting method. I'm always keen to share ideas and would really like to hear opinions on my method, how others approach the subject etc. My main aim is to make my armies look good en masse. I don't claim to be a Kevin Dallimore or Steve Dean, but to me, and others I game with, they look good enough!

Here's the full article on my blog:

Giving some of your secrets away there, Emperor B. I'm off down the art shop for some Windsor and Newton……

Be careful with Winsor & Newton ink. Make sure it is completely dry before overpainting or varnishing as it will lift of quite easily.

I try to leave it a couple of days if I can, certainly 24 hours.

Article was most helpful, thanks. Problem for me is the discipline needed to do 30+ plus figures at a single sitting!

Have a good 2016.

Thanks for sharing. I have a large number of 28mm Goths I need to paint up. My Late Imperial Romans are coming along, but I need an army of Goths for them to fight. Painting 100+ Goths is a daunting task. Your method is a good option to try.

Also, great Blog! I am going to book mark it and follow your postings. Late Imperial Roman is the period I am interested in and your Blog has some great postings concerning that time period.

Thanks I'm glad some of you found it useful. Diocletian let me know how you get on!
