"Major changes for Marine Corps uniforms are in the pipeline. Switching to "bravos" or "charlies" as the uniform of the day and doing away with desert camouflage utility uniforms are two proposals currently on the table, based in part on a survey of Marines conducted over the summer by the Marine Corps Uniform Board. Charlies? Really? Guess they only interviewed pogues. I don't see corframs being a popular choice anywhere that any actual work gets done. |

Is "bravo" and "Charlie" different orders of dress? |

Yes Bravos and Charlie's are different. Charlie's is the green slacks and Khali dress shirt. It's been so long I don't remember what Bravos are, maybe Dress blue pants and the khaki dress shirt. Surprised they are even asking the Marines. My how things have changed. |

Ashokmarine, remember the summer wool "trops" and khakis for overseas wear? as you said, how things have changed! I was stunned when they quit polishing brass buckles and went from spit shined dress shoes to corfam. |

Charlies are Bravos with a short sleeve khaki shirt instead of a long-sleeved shirt and tie. Add a jacket to Bravos and they transform into Alphas. The "woolly pulley" sweater fits in there somewhere, but I was stationed in southern California and never wore it. All service uniform items are dry-clean only expensive to purchase but cheaply made dress clothes that are entirely impractical for anywhere outside of a climate controlled office. |
